The Life Scholarship Program was approved by the 1998 
General Assembly for each academic year for the amount of 
tuition and fees to eligible undergraduate students attending
two-year colleges or universities in South Carolina.

from the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.

In order to receive the Life Scholarship at Horry-Georgetown
Technical College, the student must, among other things:

  1. Not be in default on a Federal Title IV or State of South 
    Carolina educational loan; not owe a refund on Federal 
    Title IV or State of South Carolina student financial aid 
    program.
  2. Not have been convicted of any felonies. 
  3. Not have been convicted of an alcohol or drug-related 
    misdemeanor offense during the preceding calendar year 
    defined as 12 months from the date of the start of the school 
    for the period of this award. 
  4. Not or will not be enrolling in the Learning Success Center 
    (LSC) course for 2003–2004.
  5. Renewal eligibility is based on my earning no less than a 
    3.0 cumulative GPA and earning 30 hours per academic 
    year.
  6. Turn in the LIFE certification. (This form can be printed 
    out directly from the web. You will need to sign it and turn 
    it into the Financial Aid Office.)
