COMPASS-- Computerized Placement Tests Conway Campus, Georgetown Campus, Grand Strand Campus, North Myrtle Beach Off-Campus Site General Information What Is COMPASS? COMPASS is a computerized adaptive testing system that helps place students into courses at their appropriate course level. It is designed to determine a student's basic skill strengths and needs in the areas of reading, writing, and math. COMPASS is not a pass-fail test. It is used for appropriate course placement to insure successful completion of your academic program goals. The testing system is easy to use, and computer experience is not needed. COMPASS has three sections: Reading Skills, Writing Skills, and Math Skills. The Reading Skills section consists of passages that you read and then answer questions about the content.
