The College: Horry-Georgetown Technical College is a two-year, public
coeducational college approved by several accreditation agencies
to offer associate degrees, diplomas, and certificate programs.
Non-credit and corporate training programs are offered through the
continuing education division of the College.
Location:
Founded in 1966, the College
has three locations in northeastern region of South Carolina:
Georgetown, Conway, and the Grand Strand (Myrtle Beach). The
College offers educational opportunities in Northern Horry County
through its off-campus site located on the campus of North Myrtle
Beach High School.
Enrollment:
Approximately 6,850 students
annually enroll in HGTC regular curriculum programs, while
approximately 18,000 people participate in Continuing Education
courses.
Faculty:
HGTC has approximately 130
full-time and over 110 part-time faculty members. The part-time
faculty members consist primarily of HGTC staff members, business
and civic leaders, and prominent professionals within the region.
