Distance Learning/Transient Students
You have come to this page because you plan to enroll as an online transient student. This means that you are currently pursuing a degree at another college but choose to take some classes at Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
Students are required to inform their instructors that the are transient so
that preparations can be made, if necessary, to accommodate testing and any
other on site functions.
Enrollment Checklist
for Transient Students Planning to Take Online Courses
1. Acquaint Yourself with Online Learning
Before committing to online courses, students should understand what will be required to successfully complete a course:

2. Apply for Admissions

3. Obtain a Transient Approval Form
See your advisor at your home institution to receive your Transient Approval Form. You and your advisor must ensure that you have met pre-requisites for the HGTC courses for which you will be registered. This approval is only valid for one semester and is your assurance that your home institution will accept the HGTC courses for credit.
4. Submit Transient Approval Form
To request your courses, submit the Transient Approval Form or letter by one of the following methods:

5. Pay Tuition
You may pay by credit card online, as part of the registration process, or you may call the Student's Account office at (843) 349-5310. Once accepted, you will receive a username and password so that you may register online using your HGTC Campus Pipeline account. A tutorial is shown here.
6. Complete Transcript Request Form
Print a HGTC Transcript Request Form to ensure that your grade will be sent to your home institution at the end of the term. There is a $5 charge for this service which you may pay at the Student's Account office at the time you pay for your tuition.

7. Access Online Services
After you have registered, call Student Online Support at (843) 349-5340
to obtain a HGTC Campus Pipeline username and password. To get information

8. Order Textbooks
Order your textbooks online or visit the HGTC Barnes & Noble Bookstore at the Conway, Grand Strand or Georgetown campuses. You may pay for books and supplies online via credit card. Shipping charges may apply.
