Training on software and equipment is available for small groups or individuals. Although group training will generally be held in the Faculty Multimedia Lab on the Conway Campus, we will hold training for groups or individuals at Grand Strand or Georgetown as needed.

  Multimedia Lab  
     
 

The Faculty/Staff Multimedia Labratory provides a staffed environment or the production of technology-based instructional materials. Faculty have access to the Internet and up-to-date software and production equipment for instructional design.

Support staff are available to assist faculty with the development of classroom presentations, web pages, and instructional videos, and to provide training on the use of multimedia equipment. Group training sessions will be supplemented with individual assistance as needed.

The lab provides an environment for sharing exchange, and active collaboration among muti-disciplinary faculty for instructional improvements.

  • I was one of the original 5 teachers to deliver the first Distance Learning classes at HGTC in 1996. I taught Beginning Algebra, College Algebra, and College Trigonometry via Distance Learning to our three campuses in Conway, Grand Strand, and Georgetown.
  • I co-developed and taught videotape courses at HGTC in Beginning Algebra and College Trigonometry.
  • I have developed both a Macroeconomics and Microeconomics course for the internet and currently teach both courses.
  • I received a grant from HGTC’s Strengthening Institutions Grant (Title III). This grant allowed me to develop “ink and audio” presentations using a software/hardware called Mimio. I developed over 50 presentations that were used in an internet calculus course that I developed.
  • I developed the first web page for SOCAMATYC (South Carolina Chapter of the American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges).
  • I co-developed TechBiz, the email newsletter of the Business Department at HGTC.
