Overview
Horry-Georgetown Technical College offers a variety of programs of study
in the field of Medical Imaging Science, intended to produce
professionals prepared for careers as medical imaging technologists.
Medical Imaging Science professionals use a variety of complex
technologies and computer applications to provide physicians with
information for the diagnosis and treatment of disease, as well as the
maintenance of health. These professionals have a high level of patient
of contact in which the use of interpersonal skills is critical.
Furthermore, they have the opportunity to work in hospitals, clinics,
physician's offices, imaging centers and industry.

Mission Statement
The Medical Imaging Sciences Programs of
Horry-Georgetown Technical College will provide a student-centered
environment for the development of professional attributes, technical
abilities, and critical thinking skills that are expected of an
entry-level Technologist. The graduate of the program will have acquired
the knowledge, skills and professional experiences necessary for success
in achieving their career and educational goals and will work as
effective radiographers in their local communities.
