The Dental Sciences Department
at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is comprised of the
Dental Hygiene Associate Degree program, the Dental Assisting Diploma
program, and the Health Science Certificate program. The Health
Science Certificate program is designed to allow students to take
their general education courses prior to entering either the Dental
Assisting or Dental Hygiene programs.
Students in both programs
receive an education
in a modern, well-equipped on-Campus dental clinic, under the
direct supervision of licensed dentists and hygienists.
Both programs undergo accreditation from an outside
agency. The American Dental Association's Commission on Dental
Accreditation has reviewed both programs and they have received full
accreditation with the status of "approval without reporting
requirements."
