Degree: Certificate in SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY (SUR7)
Credit Requirements: 37 semester credit hours
This program offers classes for the skilled person to
enter into the healthcare environment as a surgical technologist.
Graduates will prepare and maintain sterile fields, pass
instruments, sutures and sponges, etc. and function as a key part of
the surgical team. The program provides students with classroom
study, laboratory and clinical experience. Students are trained in
aseptic techniques, medical equipment nomenclature, and human
anatomy for the operating room.
There are specific requirements,
including course prerequisite requirements, for placement
